Video Screencast Help

When my daughter opens Internet Explorer 10, she is directed, or maybe the term is redirected, to I have tried to redo the home page, but Portalsosites does not even show up as the homepage. I have reviewed the installed programs and can not find anything there. I have used Symantec Endpoint Protection, full scan, but it does not detect any issues. I have used the Microsoft Emergency Response Tool, and nothing shows up.

I am sure she did this to herself, but oh well, this is what we call a learning experience. So if you have a solution on how to remove Portaldosites from her laptop, please let me know.

The computer is a DELL laptop, running Windows 8. Thanks for your help.

Thanks and Regards,

Download the SymHelp tool:

Run the Symantec Power Eraser on the system

Let me know if that works.

Also, some additional links to go thru:

Security Response recommendations for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 settings

Security Best Practice Recommendations

Please click the "Mark as solution" link at bottom left on the post that best answers your question. This will benefit admins looking for a solution to the same problem.

portaldosites is a so-called browser hijacker. If Brian's tip does not work, make a search for "remove portaldosites".

There are some established third-party scanners like Malwarebytes or AdwCleaner which may help you.
