Portaldosites

Created: 25 Jan 2014 | 2 comments

When my daughter opens Internet Explorer 10, she is directed, or maybe the term is redirected, to www.portaldosites.com. I have tried to redo the home page, but Portalsosites does not even show up as the homepage. I have reviewed the installed programs and can not find anything there. I have used Symantec Endpoint Protection, full scan, but it does not detect any issues. I have used the Microsoft Emergency Response Tool, and nothing shows up.

I am sure she did this to herself, but oh well, this is what we call a learning experience. So if you have a solution on how to remove Portaldosites from her laptop, please let me know.

The computer is a DELL laptop, running Windows 8. Thanks for your help.

Thanks and Regards,

Brian

Download the SymHelp tool:

Run the Symantec Power Eraser on the system

Let me know if that works.

portaldosites is a so-called browser hijacker. If Brian's tip does not work, make a search for "remove portaldosites".

There are some established third-party scanners like Malwarebytes or AdwCleaner which may help you.
