This issue has been solved. See solution.

As subjected

something went wrong during upgrade but didn't highlighten in logs.

Now from JAVA GUI dates are not shown for all media

through CLI only written date is shown but expiration not.

Couldn't figure out what went wrong

Can you show an example from the GUI (screenshot) and the corresponding tape from the command line.

Thanks,

Martin

not that then ....

Any different if you look at this in the netbackup admin console

In nutshell, this is looking like a java issue (less I have mis-understood something), if you have the windows admin console available this would confirm.

windows remote admin console. takes hell lot of time ... it simply freezes entire system

Any other pre-reqs are required other then ports and remote system to be listed under additional servers and host file vice versa... something i might have missed

Don't think so - the java console should show what the command line shows ...

got bit of info, newer backups are f9 and showing both dates as expected. But only old media doesn't Seems upgrade missed either of db or is still incomplete,. but i guess if it was incomplete by anymeans it should have reported somewhere , neverthless it didn't neither in install trace too.

How to overcome onthis....???? Any luck or is known issue???

 Cheers !!!

The DB schema is updated in the upgrade, perhaps there was some issue.

Either way, this wil require a support call to fix.

From the emm command, it seems the dat is missing (less the command is reporting incorrectly).

nbdb_unload will drop the DB so this can be checked.

If it really is missing, which it appears to be, fixing will be fun ...

My thought would be to use NBCC and see what the expiration date is that it wants to set for each tape (NBCC should detect this).

It could also fix it, but will leave the tapes affected in a Full status.

It might be possible, to get an SQL script to insert the dates back into the DB .

Think you're going to have to log a call - sorry.
