It seems that Postgres doesn't like installing onto domain controllers. I removed the domain controller role and it installed successfully.
This was a basic W2K3 SP2 Standard Edition installation, and I was logged on as administrator. I can't see why this would cause Postgres any problems.
In the Workspace Streaming guide it says:
I never had the option to specify the domain instead of the computer name. I know this is a PostGres problem and not Workspace Streaming, but maybe someone out here has come across this problem.

What have Symantec done to this install???
OK, so I got around this by installing onto a non-domain controller server. Then the Installshield installation failed for some reason, and I was forced to run setup.exe from the temporary directory that is created in %TEMP%\Disk1\Server. Now the Streaming Server service will not start because it says the eval license file that is provided has expired.
I can't believe I'm the only one to have had these problems.
