Ok so we currently fake our machines to do a nightly reboot...
i basically do a software delivery job to distribute Shutdown.exe to our machines nightly....
works usually well.. however we get times were it doesnt.. and a few people will get the reboot during the day...
now today is an exception... TONS are getting rebooted... now and then too.. cant figure out why...
so i remember I chose to not do Task Server restart and tried figuring out why...
well i just tested it... it wasnt working in the branches... worked at home office but not branches..
now i just got it working at the branches..... but now i see the other problem...
powered on and locked - works great and reboots
machine powered off - will power it back on.... then reboot - Dont want to do that....
machine not connected - machine powered on by user (laptop)... boots up.... then it forces a reboot.. dont want that either...
is there any way that i can set the task to not reboot if the computer isnt online? and dont force it when it does.. a run now type deal?
or is there a better way?
i have my software delivery shutdown set to only run at 3am but it seems that the user inventory is locking it in place... waiting for a user to login.. then inventory runs... then starts reboot...
i changed the user inventory to noon.. so person should be logged in....
i was on hold with altiris from 11:45am to 2:15pm.. hung up... came back and called back in.. back on hld... 12 minutes in...
