  • 1.  Pre-reqs for Remote Push from SEPM Server

    Posted Jan 02, 2016 10:18 AM

Hi Guys , I am trying to do remote push from SEPM server , on some machines I can push the package fine on others I can't . The error I get is the failed login when I supply the Domain Admin password. OS of machines are Windows 7 majority , 8.1 and 10. SEPM version is 12.1.6 MP3.

Please tell me if I am missing anything from the below pre-reqs for remote push.

    1) Disabling Firewall completely or opening required ports

    2) Enabling remote registery service

    3) Enabling file and printer sharing

    4) Disable UAC or enable the Local Account token filter policy

    5) Enabling Network Discovery

    Am I missing anything ?

    Thanks

Disable Windows Defender as well. This article goes in detail about what's needed:

It specifically fails at the authentication?

Hi Brian thanks for the quick response . Actually the files are never sent to the target machines as I get the login failed attempt when doing the remote push so I wont be able to provide you with the SIS_INST.log

Anything else which you feel might be missing that is causing the remote push to fail " Login failed when doing the remote push on target endpoint "

    Thanks

Run the symhelp tool on the affected client to see what it shows. Something has to be missing or not meeting the req.

Just to give it a try can you try with one local admin credentials on the same machine to see if there's any changes. also by any chance does those remote machines have any other anti virus or third party tools that might block the push command.

    Hi,

The remote push installation requires elevated privileges. If the client computer is part of an Active Directory domain, you should use a domain administrator account.

There is a KB document explaining more about it.
