Preventing SEP client to scan mapped Network drive and user home drives ?

    Hi all,

Can you please let me know where in the SEPM console I need to set so that when the SEP client is performing Weekly Active Scan and also Monthly Full scan it does not scans the mapped network drive or the user home drive with assigned letter from Windows?

When I go to edit the Custom workstation Virus and Spyware protection policy | protection technology | Auto Protect | Scan Details tab, I have unchecked the option in Scan files on remote computers. Is the option is good enough to prevent Symantec to crawl and scan the files in my file server share & DFS share ?

Admin defined scans will not scan mapped network drivers ( which are mapped under user accounts) coz Scan will run under system account.

User defined scans will scan all the mapped drives coz scan will run under user context.

Does a Full Scan scan Mapped Network Drives?

There is no option for this. Just know the full scan will NOT scan mapped drives.
