    Hi,

A few weeks ago my printer - actually I'm sure it's the computer - started behaving badly.  I'd print a document.  Then a few minutes later it would print again, repeating the process until I turned off the printer.  Of course, if I turned the printer back on, the behaviour would continue.  I checked the print spooler window and nothing was loaded for the printer to print.  Then magically the old document would reappear in the print queue and start to print again.  Obviously, I have a virus or a trojan.  My Semantec isn't finding it.  I haven't found any useful information on how to track this down and get rid of it.

Can anyone help?  I don't like wasting ink and killing trees.

    Thanks,

    Will

Are defs at the latest revision? If not, update them and run a full scan

Also, try the symantec power eraser tool

Thank you for your help.  Unfortunately, the scan did not turn up anything.  The power eraser tool is no longer supported and is not found at the URL that you provided.

    I'm still looking for ideas.

    Thanks,

    Will

You need to run the power eraser from the symhelp tool. See here

Just a quick suggestion, try to clean the printer queue with some tools ( for example : https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/usb-swiss-army-knife-portable-tool-detect-and-repair-stalled-print-jobs ) and the see what heppens.

Repeated printing process would be face by several individuals. In most of the occasions when we accidentally doubled click in the printer option then we can get the same repeatedly printing results. Otherwise there is some fault in the printing or connection with the computer. Basically spooler windows crash report are identify in most of the occasion, but I never before facing any kind of repeatedly printing problems.
