I want to add an exception in DLP for printer types/names.

I was unable to see this category under the exception rule name (this will need to be applied to several rules ).

This is to eliminate false positives from PDF creation selected as printers.

Sumit G, I am not sure you realize that what you linked is for EMAIL exceptions!!

I too have looked for a way to exlude "Adobe PDF" as the printer name. I do not see where it says "Printer Device ID' as you have suggested.

Have you tested this? If you have and it works then please post how you got it to work. I have looked all over these forums for a solution and have not found one. So please do not post a link without having tested it.

The only solution that I have found is to tell the users to Save to PDF instead of Print to PDF.

There was another solution to create an exception for PDF monitoring but that means when a user prints a PDF with sensitive information than the PDF is ignored based on the policy. This is something we do not want as we want to exclude the Print to PDF function.

I have also been unable to find that particular field.   I can filter data by ID but not  create exception by ID.
