Does anyone know what changed as far as printer inventory between NS6 and NS7.1?
We started affecting our Windows Print Server environment when we had our hardware inventory run on the same schedule as we used to with NS6. We can watch the printer control panel on a computer and see the printer list refresh. However, when many, many computers do this at the same time it has the effect of a DoS attack on the print server and, for us, it has wide-ranging effect on our environment.
Why does the printer inventory force our clients to refresh their printer connections? Is there any way of preventing this from happening other than doing our hardware inventory in tiny batches?
