  • 1.  proactive threat protection - off

    hi there,

    i ve ugpraded my SEP client on SEPM server, from 11.0.6100 to 11.0.6200....

    after upgrade i noticed that proactive threat protection feature was on off state....

     

    any ideas?

    Problem


    Why does Proactive Threat Protection show "OFF" after installing a Symantec Endpoint Protection client?

    Symptoms
    Proactive Threat Protection shows "OFF" in the SEP client interface.

     

    Cause


    On Windows server operating systems and Windows XP 64-bit operating systems, Proactive Threat Protection only supports Commercial Application List scanning or "CAL". This is why the status shows as "OFF" in the client interface.

    Solution


    This is working as designed.

    See this KB - Proactive Threat Protection shows disabled and does not update definitions after install

    You are talking about the machine SEPM is installed on so I suppose it is Windows Server 2003/2008, right? As such, please follow one of the documents mentioned above - it works as designed.

    PTP is partially supported on server operating systems - will work only Commercial Applications List.
