    Hi,

I know this has been an issue for many people and this topic has been done to death, but everywhere I have looked there are solutions, they work for other people but not me.

We are running v11.0.5002.333 and everytime we get the user to reboot, the same issue occurs, we have to hit 'fix', (users are using XP SP3). We got the SEP Support Tool, but every PC that we try it on has a different issue, none of the solutions work and there does not seem to be a common problem with all of the machines.

Does anyone have any information that may be able to help me? I have tried most things that have been suggested but I have not managed to resolve the problem. If there is no fix, I will be happy in the knowledge that a patch may be on its way, and that it is not just me being incompetent.

    Thanks in advance

here is the one which worked for some
    remove SEP
    reboot the box.
    right click on the setup.exe
    select run as administrator
    install it.
    reboot the box and check

It didn't work for me unfortunately.

It's getting a little frustrating but if it can't be done, then so be it. Does anyone know whether there will a patch for this soon?

    I agree.

The PTP function is very unstable. Most people don't notice it because SEPM lacks the report for PTP

Is it 'Waiting for updates'?  Does hitting 'Fix' actually fix it until the next reboot?  Feel free to include a screen shot of what you are seeing.

If there are settings in PTP policy (viewable via the SEPM) that you have unchecked but have not locked, the client may interpret this as something that needs to be fixed.  Check in the AV/AS policy under TruScan Proactive Threat Scans and if you have something unchecked but not locked, see if locking it makes a difference.

This comes to mind because for email scanning tools, if (for example) Lotus Notes Auto-Protect is disabled but not locked it will show up as an error in the SEP client to be fixed.  Clicking fix enables it.  Clicking the lock in the policy leaves it disabled and doesn't prompt for it to be 'fixed'.

    Hope this helps,
