    dear all

I have problems with some of the pc-s (30-40 problematic pc-s all XPs) on my network. Namelly some of them are reporting to have Proactive Threat Protection Disabled. On some of them i have tried all solutions that are mentioned in the posts on the formu, but they still are reporting problems.

Before i try to reistall SEP11 do you have some ideas for me to try and fix the problem.

    thanks

Are you using RU5? If no try by installing RU5,in RU 5 a lot of fixes are present for PTP.

If the above link does not work try this ONLY on one machine first and tell me the result

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\SERVICES\SmcService  added Multi String Value  “DependOnService”,  with  Data  as “SENS” .
Rebooted the machine and  then check PTP status

i have tried the both solutiond already and they have not worked.
Tried the regedit solution, also failed

at the end i've reinstaled the SEP11 and the PTP works good now, but at the begining of the post i asked for another solution other than that :((
I have no time to reinstall the whole antivirus and restart all pc's (so far 30-40 pcs with this problem).

btw i'm using 11.04 version, i will start deploing the 05 version on the rest of the pc-s that havent got SEP11 on them (round 400 pcs) in the next few days and will see what the results will be

    regards

To fix the PTP disable issue go to add/remove program then modify the features disable the PTP then after removing the PTP reboot the client then enable it again. i will try this on one of our pc that has problem. update me on this

As i said befoure, this option works well, but I have a lot of PC with this problem (more than 100) so i cannot go from user to user and reinstal PTP.

    100PC*15min=1500min=25h = 1working week :((

    we can try this
move one or two clients to a test group which has a problem
    click-admin-install packages
    select upgrade groups with package
this time select only your test group
and uncheck maintain existing setting, select just AV
    give it some hours
    once the clients have AV
do the same next time and include PTP, check if it gets disabled or enabled.
