Proactive Threat Scan is showing as disabled on client machines due to old definitions.

However, the definitions are from today and are not old at all. Can somebody tell me why this is happening?

Yeah, PTP is off on the servers like you stated, but this isn't causing the client to appear with a red dot indicating a problem.

Only the workstations which are running XP SP3 are doing that.

Rebooting hasn't made a difference?  Not sure if you did when you upgraded the clients.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

I have upgraded all of the clients to RU5 so that isn't the issue.

I have also rebooted both the server and the clients to no avail.

Do I need to call tech support and sit on hold for several hours to see if I can get this problem taken care of?

I've attached a screenshot as evidence.PTP.JPG

Try by repairing the client

Try by repairing the client from add/remove programs
This is a managed client,  am I right?
Because live update button is not grayed out  this will happen only in unmanaged clients and in managed clients were the manual launch of liveupdate allowed ..

This is a managed client

This is a managed client where the manual launch of liveupdate is allowed.

I don't see any reason our end users shouldn't be able to launch LiveUpdate on their own if they need to for some reason.
