Probelm with Cataloging - BE2012 SP1

I i just inserted an old tapes set of 3 years ago..

i am trying to make cataloging..i recieve a repeatly error for every tape:

From the Backup Exec button

From the Backup Exec button (yellow button @ extreme top left corner), choose Configuration & Settings - Backup Exec Settings - Catalogs...

Uncheck the option for - use storage media catalogs & re-run the catalog job..if it fails, check if it fails with byte count... if indeed yes, see if you can view the restore selections..

Did you inventory the media before trying to catalog it. Please view below

Hi, For sure I run inventory

Hi,

For sure I run inventory first..then catalog..

but something strange..

Even the Error messages..I can see the view the Restore Selections when i try to restore..but not all of them!

any other ideas?

FRom the Devices tab, select

FRom the Devices tab, select the tape media and view the backupset details. This should give you a more accurate idea of what is on the tape. In 2012, restore view a lot of things are grouped seperately, like Files folders and drives,  System state, Exchange, SQL. So thy all might not be visible in a single restore selection.
