Hi,

i'm using SEP for manage over 8000 client

I have Problem with my SEPM entering 2011. Virus deviniton distribution on SEPM not updated.

you can see this pic below

 

But actualy,all my client in all branch is update on SEP.this is one example. this is capture SEP on my own PC today

 

this is another screenshoot for analysis

1. My PC status on SEPM.

2. almost Gup show 2010-12-01 as the last updates

How to ride this issue?

the SEPM Is updated with teh

the SEPM Is updated with teh latest definition, also the client shown over here is updated bit does not reflect proprly on the SEPM console, this could be becuase of SEPM overloaded.

 

What is the DataBase used?

Reatsrt the SEPM and Database services and see if it changes it's status!

since this problem is detected, I've done what you suggested Pete, but no effect occurred

run the sepsupport tool, and

run the sepsupport tool, and see what all errors are seen?

did you repair the SEPM, if not can you try?

Hi pete, last night i'm

last night i'm Running SEP support tool in my SEPM server,

from there I know,my C drive are low.

this is the result :

"Drive C:\ has 1.00 GB free space which is less than the required 8GB. (4GB for the server and 4GB for the database.) "

For this issue, next month I had scheduled for migration to new machines, along with the relocation of our data centers.

the effect after running the tool, CPU proses in the server decreases. usualy always 100% :)

please check folder program files\symantec\sepm\data\inbox\agentinfo\

how much files are there

if more than 10 - restart SEPM service

total file in this folder is over 42,000 file.should i remove the content?

 

in this folder there are 2 type of file

1. dat

2.tmp

Which is safe to delete?

do not delete content - SEPM

do not delete content - SEPM will apply those files in some time

after files will be less than 20 - check console

firstly you need to free up

firstly you need to free up space on the server. if the agentinfo files are accumlated for long, it's rare that files will be processed until known issues are fixed.

nothing SEPM sometimes

nothing

SEPM sometimes freezes and it do not read info from clients (that is why you have not up-to-date info in console and too much files in agentinfo folder)

after service restart SEPM begin to read files and delete them

so you should only wait))

Do you have a GUP in place and are these clients connecting to it for content updates?

Is the GUP online and updating?

All clients in GUP don't have problem about connection and content update.

             Try giving "Everyone" FULL permission or at least READ and WRITE permission on C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox folder and Sub folders.

Wheter client is showing

Wheter client is showing online status in the SEPM console?

Delete one client from SEPM (right click on the client and click on delete) .Then restart the smc service in the client (Start-->run type smc -stop for stopping the service and smc -start for starting the service) and see wheter it is appearing back in the server...

Then it may be due to some free space issue in the server.How may clients you have and what is the configuration of your server?You are using SQL DB or Embedded DB?

Yes AravindKM,

Pete and you may be right, maybe this issue about some Free space,

next month I had scheduled for migration to new machines and expand our storage, along with the relocation of our data centers.

there are about 8000 client that are managed .we using Microsoft SQL 2005 for database.

I wonder if there are files that can be deleted to increase the free space?

I will immediately notify after migrating to new server.

I've had this issue for few clients... steps taken was the same as suggested by AravindKM.

Well i call my problem as 'duplicate entries' .. after i have deleted my affected clients from SEPM, it re-appear under 'My Company' group

Btw what version of SEPM and SEP are you using?

but I think this is a different issue.

a few hours ago,I tried again what is suggested by AravindKM.

and this is what happened

The status is Not reporting,

below picture is my version Of SEPM and SEP

 

 I know this is not the latest version,

do I have to upgrade their versions ?
