This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello,

i have a problem for accessing on several archived item for many mailboxes. I have Four Enterprise Vault server and Three EVDG gateway. When i open the mailboxe, the link of archived item change automacally to the other EVDG. If the link is on a first evdg srver, the archived item open, if the link is on the second or third server, the archived item does'nt open but I don't understand why the link switch and what process do switch and change the hostname on notes.ini.

I have no error message on domino console and event viewer. I have just an error message when i try to open the archived item.

How work the switch on several evdg server on one domino domain ?

Thanks a lot.

Grégory

AFAIK, the link which you are referring to is the Archive Server URL or EVDG Server. This link will be used for EV operations such as retrieval and search.

EV uses hidden profile documents to update this link. The Archive Server name is fetched from SQL Database, Directory Database and table called "EVDominoServer". This entry will be updated in users profile document by synchronization process.

If you have multiple EVDG Servers, then it will take random entries from this table and update them into profile document. As long as, you see correct EVDG Server names, there should not be any issue with this process.

The cause of your problem could be the communication between your EV/EVDG Servers. You can try following to investigate this issue further:

For example, you have 3 EVDG Servers named EVDG1, EVDG2, EVDG3 and four EV Servers, EV1, EV2, EV3, EV4.

1. Check the location of archive of affected user. Which EV Server manages this archive. For example EV1.

2. Next, try accessing archived items from notes client.

3. If it shows error, then make a note of the EVDG server it is connecting to. For example EVDG2.

4. Goto EVDG2, check the Event logs Enterprise Vault as well as Application and System logs.

Do you see any errors there? DCOM errors?

5. Goto EV1 Server, check the Event logs Enterprise Vault as well as Application and System logs.

Do you see any errors there? DCOM errors?

6. If you dont find enough information in events, you can use DTrace to get further logging.

7. In the same scenario, login to EVDG2 Server and enable Dtrace for nServer, EVLotusDominoArchivingTask.

I hope this helps..

Thanks For your response, We don't have dcom errors on all server and IIS Log.

If I try web research iis interface since all Ev server, i access for all archived items and i can open the message.

on the lotus client,if the user use the first evdg server, he can open the item, but if a another user use two and three evdg server, the message can't be opened.

Can you choose the evdg server while synchronization process ?

I'm launching dtrace for all evdg servers and i'm waiting error in the log.

No you cannot select the EVDG Server manually, its automatic and random. Lets see what we get in the logs.

juste for information, we use ev 10.0.3 HF 2, and the first evdg is 32 domino Server and two other EVDG are 64 bit domino server.

Hi, I found the error. The nevdomino.dll on the HF2 directory is only for EVDG 32 bits domino server.

When i replace with the 10.0.3 original file, the retrieve works.it's not specified on the readme on the cumulative fix that the nevdomino.dll is only for 32 bits.

If this file is modified for 32 bits evdg server, Why it's not modified for 64 bits domino evdg server ?

I'll open a ticket for specify this error.

Thanks a lot.

Great, Thanks a lot. The HF 2 works on 32 bits domino version. But we have update two EVDG on 64 bits version yesterday.

Not need to create a ticket on support.

Have a good day.
