I recently made an AI snapshot of Photoshop elements 8.0, and then tried to deploy it via ghost console and it always fails with and error code of 1. I do know that the AI snapshot package I made works because I ran it manually and Photshop Elements installed without any issue. It is only when I try to deploy the package via ghost console it always fails.

Lastly the AI package is about 1 gig in size is this too much for ghost console to handle via an AI package???.

Any help would greatly be appreciated as I am trying to avoid having to re-image my lab for this software addition request.

Photoshop Elements is an MSI (Windows Installer) package internally. Standard application packaging "rules" always say that MSI installs should not be recaptured, unless you really know exactly what you are doing and know how to clean up darwin descriptors and remove other non-relevant content from the snapshot. Additionally, creating a snapshot will certainly break the application's ability to handle future updates from Adobe.

Frankly, AI snapshots of a large and complex application install are never a good idea. If you need it for one user, a manual install from original media is the only way to ensure that the app will function as designed.

If you need it for a number of users, then include it in the build image before ghosting.
