  • 1.  Problem with Altiris - Symantec Management Console

    Hello,

     

    I have problems with my enviroment of Altiris, exactly I have some problems when i try to send some jobs or tasks to a some clilents, the error message is something like this: "The waiting period of the task in Task Server ran out while waiting for the select agent."

     

    I  have the Agent installed in the client, but when I open the console I cannot see the directive that I have send from the console, I checked that the Firewall service is stopped, and the Altiris Agent is running,

     

    There are anybody with the same problem as me?

    Hi Paulitus,

             Try disabling the maintenance window and update the agent configuration.If still the issue persist,reboot the task server and see whether the problem reoccurs.

    I'm sorry but I'm novice with Altiris, and I don't know how to do that you said.

    How can I disable the maintenance window and update it?

    And to reboot the task server its enough rebooting the windows server or I have to do something more?

    Hi Paulitus,

        Go to Settings-> Agent\plug-ins-> Maintenance Window and by default this policy will be disabled,if so that's fine...else disable it and then update the client machine agent configuration.

    Rebooting the task server is same as rebooting the window server which performs the task server role for that client machine.

    I'm sorry, I know I am a little clumsy with Altiris, but I cannot see where update the client machine agent configuration.

    I can disable the policy of Maintenance (It was only in maintenance mode betwen 18 till 8), but I disabled it.

    but, I don't see where update clients.
