    Hi Dave,

After the crash, does client  stay in C:\> prompt or start communicating with the server? If it is communicating, are there any log files in Console task?

If you run Ghost in some other means (USB/Floppy/CD), does it work?

    Hi Dave,

OK - since you can run Ghost if you boot manually, Ghost does not conflict with hardware.

What do you mean by crash? Does it dump any information or it just reboot to Windows.

What network template you use in Console for these clients?

Probably it is not crashing, but just reboot the machine to Windows. If the console client does not find a valid network connection, it reboots to Windows to avoid getting stuck in DOS. When you step through F8, did you see any errors when loading the network driver?

In your first post you said it is working if you use another NIC. Probably, the dos driver selected for the machine is not compatible wtih the card. What network driver is used for the client? If double click the client in Console and go to Client tab, it will show you the selected driver, and you can change it too.

when dos ghost console client reboot normally he send the command tu restart and i see it, i use network driver by inter the dos 12.1 for intel pro 1000, if i take the universal driver the same thing , the computer reboot.
and if i use F8 no error all is ok, i'm not understanding this i can't put a pro 100 card in eatch desktop!

    Hi Dave,

You said in your first post that it is an IBM M52 machine. I will try to find a similar machine and see if I can re-produce this issue.

Did this work before you upgrade to GSS 2.01?

Hi, I think i have found the solution to my problem, i think is the driver don't have the time to finish to load, i want to know how i can do a wait in the ghost batch(virtual partition), i think that because if i press f8 and i accept all, all work perfectly(no reboot), and i add a file in my driver and no problem occurs, tankx! and if it's possible how to modify files in virtual partition.

    Hi Dave,

I have seen another customer who has the same issue, and trying to re-produce it here. In the mean time, if you like please try adding a delay, it should work.

Adding a delay could be done be editing the DOS template in Console. To do that,

    Run Ghost Boot Wizard
    Select drive mapping boot disk
Select the network template you use, and select copy
It will create a copy of the template with (2) postfix. So your original template could be keep intact.
Select that copy, and select modify
Select Advanced, and add a DOS wait program. This will add to the \Net directroy.
In Autoexec.bat window, add something like
    \net\wait 15
Select this new template for the client and try the task.

If you want more details on this please let me know.
