Problem with configuring Proactive Threat Protection on unmanaged client SEP SBE 12.0
Updated: 25 May 2010 | 7 comments
Hi there,
I just installed SEP SBE 12.0 on my personal PC as a unmanaged client. Everything went well, even LiveUpdate.
But there is one thing bothering me:
I cannot configure the rules and settings for Proacvtive Threat Protection. It says "Your administrator has locked this feature." But I couldn't prohibit it, because I didn't install the Center to disable any features.
So do you have any ideas hiw to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
greetings
Flo

Hello again,
first, thanks for your replies. I installed the SPC on my system, but I cannot figure out how to permit the changing of the ProactiveTP settings. I have searched through the KB but did not found anything.
I don't know what to do...

First convert your client to
First convert your client to managed -
Then select policies>right click>Edit
Virus Spyware>Truescan Proactive Threat Scans
You can enable/disable PTP as well as the ability to lock the setting. However there are no other PTP options to choose from.
Let me know if this was helpful.
