    Hi All,

    I’m using WinPE 3.1 with Ghost 11.5

I’m able to create an image of whole disk that has 3.3 TB (GPT drive) - as disk!
However cannot create image of a partition inside that disk that has 2.5 TB, a smaller partition on the same volume (disk) of 0.9 TB does not show any problem to be Imaged.

The version of the Ghost32 bit

Does anyone have an idea way I cannot create an image of single partition 2.5 TB?

    Thanks

I would suggest to try with ghost binary from GSS 2.5.1 build 2266 (it would be good to take the further patches from tech support). Again Winpe 3.1 is not certified platform, so it may or may not work.

If your system is using a UEFI bios, can you turn it off, as Ghost does not support UEFI.

    Hi Ed,

    Thanks for your prompt response

UEFI is of course disabled, thank you.

    Hi Nitin,

We need to use Ghost first, utilizing Ghost Suite 2.5.1 will be performed along the way,

It is strange for me that you can create image with Ghost32 of the entire disk (GPT) of 3.3 TB, but can not create Partition to Image of the specific partition (of 2.5 TB)...

Is there KB at Norton about this?

Thanks so much for your effort!

What is the reference to Norton all about?  If you are using a Norton Ghost product, please be aware that this product is based on different technology to Ghost Solution Suite and is supported in the Norton community to which a link can be found in a sticky posting at the top of this forum. All comments in this forum refer only to Ghost Solution Suite, and of course the reference by Nitin to using the Ghost binaries also refers to Ghost Solution Suite.

With reference to your partition imaging issues, can I ask what method of partition creation has been used? Was it created using a utility or via the operating system being installed?  If the partition format is not of a recognised type, then Ghost may not be able to image it, whereas a DISK image is performed at a more basic level.

If you are using Norton Ghost, please follow the instructions given by EdT. If not then we need to see what error you observed when try to take partition to image. Please attach the ghosterr.txt for further investigation.

    Hi,

I would  to know how you have added WinPE 3.1 support into GSS 2.5.1.

    Thanks

    1. Create WinPE 3.1 bootable media

    2. Add Ghost executables.

I don't believe the O/P has created a solution which provides the full GBW experience, but it is trivial to create newer WinPE media and just run Ghost executables from it.

    Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in responce,

As EdT mention I replaced the files that were wrongly put of ghost, re-entered files from Ghost Suite 2.5.1.
Also, I recompiled the Win PE.

It has now worked flawlessly creating and backing up images.

    Thanks !
