    Hello, All.
We have problem with downloading definitions updates for x64 clients (part of packets download normal). But definitions updates for x32 clients download without problems. We checked all proxy settings on proxy servers and client, and it seems good.
    Details:
    1. We have internal LiveUpdate Server for update clients (LiveUpdate Administrator);
    2. LUA downoading definitions updates from liveupdate.symantec.com.
    Please see screenshot:

    Please check this document

Error: "LU3000 LiveUpdate failed to download some of the available updates"
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sharedtech.nsf/d3c44a1678bd8f45852566aa005902cb/a170a54a75f09e078825708f0075a912?OpenDocument

what you can do is run the liveupdate in interactive mode
when it says what to download ,instead of downloading all, just download 64bit.

Stalker, you could try removing the downloaded content and try pulling them again.

Specifically, try the steps in the "To update the internal LiveUpdate server" section of this document:

Title: 'Error: "LiveUpdate was unable to update virus and security-risk definitions on your computer..." after running LiveUpdate manually on a client'

You can find the Log file (log.liveupdate) on this location

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate

    Try to delete C:\TempDownload folder.

Even you can clear downland folder under LU Admin installation directory....

This may help u to check the configuration...

    Hi Stalker,

The screenshot shows that you are using the legacy tool, LiveUpdate Administrator Utility 1.5.  (Though old, this version is still capable.)  As Acretian mentioned above, exact details on why the download failed will be found in the computer's log.liveupdate: LUAU 1.5 uses the same LiveUpdate that it uses for its own Symantec products to retrieve content that will be shared out to other computers.

The newer vesion of the internal LU server tool is LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x.  These two tools perform the same function (downloading content for use within an organization), but do so by completely different technologies and methods.  LUA 2.x has a lot more capabilites and has an event log in its GUI which will tell you what the problem is.  When researching for solutions in the forum or in Symantec's online articles, be careful not to confuse the two as you may be looking for files or locations that do not exist.

Best advice for your case: take a good look at the bottom of the log.liveupdate and see if that provides any specific reason for the failure.  If need be, post the relevant lines here to the forum.

    Thanks and best regards

    Mick
