    Hello,

we try several times to install the endpoint procetion on a win7 pro client. The whole network with vista ultimate 64bit/32bit is running, and the sbs2008 too. The firewall is set off to verify the problem. However the win7 client won't work anyway.

If I double click the endpoint protection taskbar symbol on client it informs that a service is not running. Which service I may restart manual, which should start in auto mode.

What may I do to find a solution. The technical papers don't give any response to this failure.

    Best regards

    Hello,

Are you trying to Install SEP Client on Windows 7 pro machine?? What version of SEP are you trying to Install?

You say, "If I double click the endpoint protection taskbar symbol on client it informs that a service is not running. Which service I may restart manual, which should start in auto mode."

That means that the SEP client is getting installed, however, you are unable to start the SEP client and it shows an error when you try to start the SEP GUI.

Could you please provide us a Screenshot of the Error Message??

Again, did you check in the services.msc, if Symantec endpoint protection service and Symantec Management Client services are running??

Please let us know the same.

Go to sepm > application and device policy > under application policy make sure registry block option is unchecked ,create package and then install it if no luck try below

run clean wipe tool on this machine which you can get from tech support

and then install sep on this machine

Very difficult to provide accurate answer until you confirm the version of your product.

    Hi,

I think you are trying to deploy pacakge through SEPM.

    If yes, check this article

All version prior to RU5 are not comaptible with vista and windows 7. I hope you are trying to install SEP RU5 or higher version.

I hope it will help you.
