    Hello.

Administrator in our company told me that he has a problem with the installation of SEP11 after removing SEP for Windows XP Embedded. I tested this setup on WindowsXP (XPMod on Windows7) and I found the same problem. Installation terminates without any messages. I run Setup again and I got to the following:

"Product: Symantec Endpoint Protection - Symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot. Please reboot the system and rerun the installation."

After rebooting the problem persists. I used a utility NoNav and CleanWipe 6.2. After that I deleted the registry keys are similar to Symantec, Live Update. I could not install SEP11. Any ideas?

    I attached the installation log.

    Thank you.

    Go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager and locate
PendingFileRenameOperations and rename it to  PendingFileRenameOperations2 and then try to install the product.
    Also check in CurrentControlSet001\002\003

    I did this:
    1. I renamed the keys in PendingFileRenameOperations2.
    2. I tried to start the installation, but I got a message:
Product: Symantec Endpoint Protection - Symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot. Please reboot the system and rerun the installation.
    3. After rebooting I ran the installation again and it was interrupted without any messages. The key in the registry again called PendingFileRenameOperations.

After that I tried to do these actions, but after renaming the key, I rebooted the computer. The result is the same. Installation was interrupted without any messages.

After renaming the key you need not reboot the machine.
