  • 1.  Problem Installing SEP 11.0.5002.333

    Hello,

    I've tried to find something related to what I had but did not find it.

    I've had new PC installed with vista, and I upgraded them to 7.. I'm not sure if that could be the problem but it has to work with upgrade.

    I tried installing the SEP from the management server, it failed, so i tried to install manually ( from the C:\TEMP\CLS-INST folder) to know what error message i would get and the only thing i get is a roll back about 50-70% of the installation, no message after the roll back just back to my desktop.

    It worked on other machine as I have upgraded them and installed the new SEP antivirus but this time it did not.

    I tried rebooting like 5 times before restarting one and it still did not work (because once i received the message it was required to reboot to continue the installation)

    I've sent the SEP_INST so you can verify what could be wrong, it start instaling and then rollback and i have these on the event viewer

    P.S.: Oh and the user i'm installing it with is domain admin so it's can't be a right issue

     This was found in SEP_INST log
    LiveUpdate registration failed. (HRESULT=-2147221164)

So delete C:\Program FIles\Symantec
C:\ProgramData\Symantec
then Install liveupdate (lusetup.exe)  
reboot the computer then install SEP.
