    Hi Adensoul,

I moved your thread to the SEP forum from the Altiris Server Management Suite forum; I think you'll get more help for your problem here.

If you are using SEP 11.0.6x, then there is no SLF file to be installed.  SEP Small Business 12.0.x requires the installation of a license file.  Please clarify which is in use.

If you are using SEP 11.0 all you need to do is to download teh software install it and its good to go. SEP 11.0 does not require any activation. If you are using SEP Small Business 12.0, it depend on the installation taht you are doing. If it is a mangae installation it requires a license file or slf file but if iy is unmanage installation it will not require any license file.

    Hi Adensoul,

Was this SEP purchased in a bundle / security suite with other Symantec products?  Maybe something like Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition (http://www.symantec.com/business/products/multimedia.jsp?pcid=pcat_security&pvid=prot_suite_abe_1)

If so, then the most likely case is that you will need to apply that .slf to Symantec Mail Security for MS Exchange and perhaps some other products, but SEP 11 will not need to have a license file manually applied in order to function.

Please let the forum community know if this resolves your question!

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick
