Problem to perform Create image job using SMP7.1TP6
Hi,
I am trying to create an image from virtual machine using custom job with Prepare for image capture and Create image tasks. I am using Altiris™ Deployment Solution 7.1 from Symantec User Guide documentation as reference documentation to prepare and configure environment to get ability create images. My SMP Server contains the Deployment Site Server and configured Symantec Boot Services (PXE), Sysprep Configuration files components and Deployment Solution plug-in ontest machine as described in document mentioned before. When I am trying to perform the job from SMP Console the Prepare for image capture task runs on test machine and always return successful result code but the Create Image task returns fault all time. From logs I found out that the @imageTool, @description and other parameters were not found. (See the log below to get more information about missing input parameters).
There is the log snippet from Altrinstic Log View:
9/24/2010 6:11:50 PM NOT Found @resourceGuid :
It seems that all these input parameters are not initialized by Prepare for image capture task and as a result the Create Image task fault.
Please can you help me solve this issue. Maybe I need to specify some additional configuration settings on SMP side or set up latest components? Please let me know where I did mistake. I’ve put the description of my SMP server components to get more information about the server side configuration and the configuration settings for Prepare for Image capture and Create image tasks as well.
SMP Server Configuration:
Name Version
Symantec Management Platform 7.1.1571
Note: All these components using development license.
Prepare for Image capture:
Pre-Imaging:
1. Windows (using sysprep)
OS Type: Windows
Reboot to:
1. PXE: x86
Create image:
Image name: TestImage.gho
Description: Some description
Imaging tool: Ghost
Image type: Disk Image
If you need more information about some parts of my SMP system I will share with you.
Thanks,
Alexey
