Hi there. I've been trying to publish my public key through Symantec Encryption Desktop. I highlight the key, click "Keys" and then "Publish to Global Directory". I received confirmation in SED that the key was successfully uploaded. A few minutes later, I get a confirmation message in my inbox, which includes a link to approve the key change. I click "Accept". When I do a search for my e-mail address, my e-mail address comes up. However, when I click to try to download by clicking on the downward pointing arrow icon, I get the following message: "The public key could not be found. It may have been removed."

I've tried publishing again, but this doesn't seem to change anything.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Hi slartibartfast098,

If this is the Fingerprint :: 3AA3DC3569F73F113204 B73A175184A475C45868 then I was able to download your key from the portal.

In the client it was also possible to download it. Please go to PGP KEys > Search for Keys, select Search: keyserver.pgp.com and Email contains <your_email@address>

Otherwise, can you PM me your email address?

    Thanks,
    dcats

Thanks very much dcats. No, that doesn't seem to be mine. I will PM you my e-mail address.

I'm less concerned about being able to download it myself and more with enabling others to easily access my public key.

sometimes it takes a little while for your key to show up on all the global directory keyservers as well. how long did you wait after you published it before looking for it? I would imagine it should be there now, if it's going to be there at all (now that it's been a couple weeks).

I believe we did have some problems with our keyserver.pgp.com global directory servers a few weeks back. But that should be resolved.

If this is still unresolved. Send me a PM and I'll look into it.

Thanks PGP_Ban. It's been weeks. I started a PM with dcats already and he got the folks who run the portal to delete the existing key, after which I re-uploaded numerous times, each time with the same issue.

I do appreciate the offer but as I already mentioned to dcats, not really worthwhile to go further.

    Thanks anyway.
