Hi

We are running Netbackup 7.0.1 and are having problem doing granualar restores from our Sharepoint 2007 server. Both the Sharepoint server and the SQL 2008 are installed in Windows 2008r2.

Taking a GRT backup of the Sharepoint server works fine, also restoring individual files. But when we try to restore a site we face some issues.

The Chrome/theme doesnt get restored, we are using a chrome that we have made ourselfes and is not one of the ones included in Sharepoint. Also the main site gets broken when we try and restore a subsite, shows an ASP error.

If thats not bad enough none of the files restored keeps their rights, but instead rights gets inherited from the site above.

Any help with these problems (the chrome and rights problems) is appreciated.

two ways to restore site

Restoring a SharePoint site from a GRT backup can be done at least one of two ways:

  1. Delete the site on the Sharepoint farm and then do the restore.
  2. Restore the site to a separate recovery farm.

I can't help with the Chrome/theme question or the rights problem.
