  • 1.  Problem with updateing SEP clients with 12.1.4112.4156 package

     Hi All,

     

     After we upgraded our Symantec Endpoint Protection Management server with the newest version 12.1.4112.4156, we started to upgrade our clients with appropriate package. They are separated in a few 32 bit groups and one 64 bit group. Most of the clients from all of the groups received their install package and upgraded their version, but few of them not. We've tried to install new version on few of the "problematic PCs" from the exported package, but again without any success. As we can see, installation starts and goes to one point when status bar starts to go in opposite direction and installation finish without any message. On a SEPM console, PC appear with a yellow dot in the "Clients" menu . When we go to properties on the computer we found:

     Group Update Provider: False

     Deployment Status: Install Failed Rolled Back

     

     Installation of the previous package  12.1.4013.4013 goes without any problem, both from the SEPM console or from the exported package. When we edit properties of the client with installed older package we found:

     

     Group Update Provider: False

     Deployment Status: The client has successfully downloaded and verified the upgrade package

     Deployment message:  Client has successfully downloaded and verified the upgrade package, type SymDelta version 12.1.4112.4156 filesize 12728054

     Deployment target version: 12.1.4112.4156

     Deployment running version: 12.1.4013.4013

     

     Please help us to resolve this issue.

    Post the SIS_INST.log and SEP_INST.log located in the %temp% directory.

    What logs do I need to gather in order to troubleshoot a failed SEP 12.1 client installation?

    Post the sep_inst.log frm client %temp%

     Updating root certificates was solution to our problem. Thanks Brian for the help.
