When RU5 was launched, I tried to implement the upgrade using "Upgrade Groups with Package" in the console. My experience with other workstation was (Symantec)MSI installation appears to the screen and its very annoying to user because they cannot cancel the installation. I would like to know why the installation was not passive(silent). To cancel the installation, I need to click very quick the Removal of Symantec in Add/Remove Programs and cancel the installation which is appearing on the monitor. Then after the uninstallation, I need to reinstall Symantec to a higher version. Is this a bug from RU5?

By defalut  when we select the option "Upgrade groups with Package" the upgrade that runs is SILENT.
But there is an option that  can notifiy the user about the upgrade.
please make sure that the notification is not on. There is no bug as such in RU5

While using the option "Upgrade Groups with Package" Got to the settings of the package and see "notify the use before upgrading" is selected or not

If selected remove it and try... It should not show any messages to user

 

There is no configuration for notification was set.
