    One of our client comments on SEP 11.6 as below, What I should do ?

     

    Many problems have been found from Special Branch of Police after installing the Symantec endpoint protection 11 antivirus.  These are noticed   as below:
     
    • The network protection do not performed as right way.
    •  Some hosts cannot connect to the main antivirus server.
    • Some hosts show its connectivity but they cannot make protection from the different types of threats.
    • Some time server sends notification that is "File system Auto-protect is not function correctly. Your protection definitions may be damaged or your product installation may be corrupt."
    •  Device or folder scanning process does not perform.
    • The reason of low performance of antivirus makes the host pc slow.
    • The antivirus does not act like other popular antivirus such as MacAfee.

    Your ans for :- Some hosts cannot connect to the main antivirus server.

     First stop SMC Service and then Go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection path and replace SyLink.xml file from another system which is reported to server.

    Some hosts show its connectivity but they cannot make protection from the different types of threats.

    You can try this :- Start your system in safe mode and scane your system. i hape this mathod is helpfull.

     

    Some time server sends notification that is "File system Auto-protect is not function correctly. Your protection definitions may be damaged or your product installation may be corrupt."

    Please replace SyLink.xml file. if it is not work then reinstall symantec in client.

     

     Device or folder scanning process does not perform. 

    may be you disable the schedule scaning.

    Hi,

    I would strongly recommend to upgrade your product to latest Symantec built i.e SEP 12.1 RU1

    You can upgrade from SEP 11.6 to SEP 12.1 RU1 without any issue.

    With SEP 12.1 you will see many improvements.

    Hello,

    It is important here to understand that you are carrying an older version of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6005

    I personally request you to install the Latest version (11.0.7101) on your machine.

    Reason, check the Release notes for Endpoint Protection and Network Access Control 11

     

    Per best practice, all SEPMs and SEP 11 clients in an organization should migrate to the latest available software Release Update (RU) as soon as it becomes available.
