I'm sorry if its not the place but i haven't seen Symantec Connect Support button anywhere.
Thanks.

Upgrade issue

Hi Naor,

The problem you're describing was caused by a security patch we applied to the User Points system last night.

We're working to fix the issues this patch is causing our users.

Should be fixed

We've updated the code on the production server.

Please test and let us know if you're still experiencing issues.

Hi Kevin

All is well and working fine,
But if I already opened a thread then here is another question:

I have posted a message, when i tried to edit the post there is a code written with the message, seems like css (doesn't look like html) code of some sort. when i try to edit the post again, i see a blank message, when i submit the changes, there is the old message and the new one.
i will take a screenshot when it happens again.

Naor Penso.

MS Word Format Codes

Hi Naor,

It looks like you copied your post from MS Word and pasted it into the rich-text editor.

The rich-text editor tries to interpret the code that's embedded in your Word document but it fails ... and you end up with the code you see in the post you've linked to.

There are a couple of ways to get around this:

  • Click the "switch to plain text editor" link (below) before pasting your text from Word.
  • Paste your text into something like Notepad -- to get rid of the formatting -- then copy it into Connect.
  • Don't paste formatted content from Word into Connect.

Hope that helps.
Kevin

I have seen the CSS tags in

I have seen the CSS tags in some messages as well; not sure if these are browser-dependent somehow?  Naor what browser and language are you using?

Thanks,
Kyle

Hi,

As you were saying,
I am copying things from MS-Word into symantec connect, I find it easier to write down long answers and articles in word.
most of the time i need the bold and the underline within my articles,
is there a way to fix it?
other then getting rid of all format?

Not that I know of

Sorry Naor,

I don't know of a way to preserve some of the formatting, like bold, in a MS-Word copy-paste and leave the rest of the Gobbledygook that comes with Word behind.

Does anyone else in this forum know of a solution?

Thanks,
Kevin
