  • 1.  Problems creating image for Thinkpad T60

    Posted Apr 12, 2011 08:30 AM

I'm having a hard time getting the correct NIC driver to image my Thinkpad T60.  When booting, it cannot obtain an IP address from my DHCP server, so I'm assuming it's a NIC card issue.

I'm using the -IB switch, chooseing the Intel Pro 1000 from the NIC card list.  And I'm trying to do the map network drive option.

I'm getting NTS0108:  Ip address cannot be obtained.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

Try grabbing the latest 32 bit Vista driver for your T60 from here:

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67846

and add it into the GSS driver library after unpacking the EXE.

If you have a working T60, have a look at the PNPID for the Ethernet NIC in device manager, and make sure the same PNP ID exists in the INF file of the driver set you add to GSS.

This driver download appears to support more than one Intel NIC chipset, under the general banner of "Intel Pro 1000", but unless the driver supports the particular PNP ID in your T60, the driver won't get loaded.
