Trying to push an image to our new HP 8730w laptop and it keeps failing with this error. It looks like it's complaining about the NIC but I'm not sure which one it's talking about (image file or laptop).

did you try integrating the Intel Pro/Wireless and Intel 82567 NIC drivers?

    Drivers download link:

    h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp

Download both Wireless and NIc and extract the drivers and take a look at the .INF files and see if you see

    DEV_4236&SUBSYS_????

I suggest getting the drivers directly from Intel. This link gives all the info you should need.

It looks like it's complaining about the NIC but I'm not sure which one it's talking about (image file or laptop).

DA is telling you that the network driver is not present in the target - that is the image you have laid down.  You will need to add the missing driver to the driver database as others have suggested.

The information that DA displays about the missing driver includes the driver that is running the device in the preOs, and the information string describing that device in the associated inf file.

Try a boot CD from he same winpe package as the console.

If the boot cd works and you can join a ghost cast session then you know the needed drivers are in place but not for this one item that based on the results of the cd are not required to boot the machine up but ghost thinks it is.

One note when looking up the pci info your device is not listed as an Intel device even though the vender 8086 is indeed Intel.

The pci device info isn't listed correctly with http://www.pcidatabase.com/

This discrepancy may be what is causing the task to fail.

If you determine that the driver is not a required driver like if this is for a wireless NIC then you could set ghost to ignore the item.  I had this with a SCSI controller that wasn’t being used to boot with and I didn’t care if it was loaded so I added it to the ignore list I guess it was.  Here is the KB that I used it is a little confusing I hope it helps.

Given the error above, you will indeed need to download the latest driver from Intel and add through the Ghost Boot Wizard. Here is the link to the driver that you need:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strOSs=All&strTypes=All&ProductID=3003&lang=eng&OSFullName=All%20Operating%20Systems

DeployAnywhere is indicating that a driver the device for the target operating system is not present in the deployAnywhere driver database. make sure that the driver that you add is for the target operating system. We know that the Vista driver for that device is good, since we can get network support in Windows PE. Here are the instructions for adding that driver to the DeployAnywhere database (accessed via the Ghost Boot Wizard):

How to add drivers to DeployAnywhere or WinPE.
