Problems exporting from one archive and importing to subfolder in another archive

This issue has been solved. See solution.

What should have been an easy operation is now giving me problems.  Want to extract the content of one archive and import it under a subfolder of a second archive.  The export ran fine - 32705 items extracted.  During the import, only 9578 items were imported.  Event log shows event id 28935
with a hex code I'm not finding and an error of "The specified identifier already exists.".  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The Specified Identifier

The Specified Identifier Already Exists is most likely talking about the Transaction ID, my suggestion is to delete the CFG file for that PST and then try reimporting

Thanks, next question...

Ok, so would you suggest purging what has already been imported to avoid duplicate messages?  Also, if I don't purge, I noticed that the PSTs that have the failed items have a new folder called PST Migration Failed Items folder with the structure underneath.  Feeling it's safter to purge, re-export the PST files, remove the CFG files and then import again.

Thats up to you i suppose,

Thats up to you i suppose, you shouldn't get duplicates because the items that were already archived should have been removed from the PST already?

But do which ever you feel most comfortable with i guess would be the answer!

That worked...

So I went with the purge first since I knew what subfolder it was.  The curious thing was the next time I extracted, I ended up with two PSTs instead of three.  I didn't do the first extract, so not sure if something happened there.  Either way, the items extracted matched the items in the archive, so I'm set.  Thanks for the sounding board.
