Problems with network shares after client power on (Symantec AV 10.1)
Hello,
i have a problem with Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.7.7000 on some clients - not all!
If a user starts his client he can work but after a time (30-240 minutes) he becomes
the following error message:
"Auf P: kann nicht zugegriffen werden.
Nicht genügend Systemressourcen, um den angeforderten Dienst auszuführen."
(in english something like:
"no access to P:
not enough system ressources to start the service."
If i stop the service "Symantec AntiVirus" and start them than the user can work and has
access to all network shares.
This problem comes back after an reboot of the client. If the user do not shutdown his
client he can work and work and work....
Has somebody an idea for the reason?
It is really difficult because only some workstations have this problem.

Go to Start--->Run Type ms
Go to Start--->Run
Type ms config and click ok
Go to services tab select hide all Microsoft services.
Here uncheck all services which are not related to symantec antivirus.
Go to startup tab and do the same.
close it ,then restart the pc and see any difference is present.

Hello,
i have tested it. I start msconfig, hide all Microsoft services, unchecked all services which are not relatet to Symantec AV.
I do the same under the tab startup.
The same problem.
I have deinstalled Symantec on one client - installed the client - also the same problem.
I installed a new PC and after the install of Symantec AV the error was the same.
Now, i have downloaded Symantec AntiVirus 10.2 from FileConnect. If i install the Symantec AV client from this
package in unmanaged mode i have no problems. But i am wondering because it is Symantec AV 10.2 and if
i start the GUI i find the information that Symantec AV 10.1.9 is installed??? Why that?
Operating System: Windows XP SP3 32 Bit
