  • 1.  Problems pushing down client package to machines

    Posted Jun 09, 2009 09:35 PM
    Hi,

When I push down the client packages to the machines, about 20% of the machine have problem installing.
Why is that so? Is there a limit to how much I can send? Is there a best practise for pushing down client packages?
The same goes to the pushing down of policies. It doesnt relfect the updated policies after one day. What could be the reason?

    Cheers

Follow the steps in this document on the clients you are not able to push the clients

Error: "No Network Provider accepted given the network path"
    http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/3e95d7f0ebf56f6088257393005bd82b?OpenDocument

In windows firewall check if file and print sharing is enabled.if this is not enabled package wont be able to push down on the clients
Make sure port 8014 ( sepm default ) is open in windows firewall for the clients to be able to reteive policies and definitions from the SEPM.

Few clients might be failing to install.for those clients first thing would be to run cleanwipe and push the package again.

Cleanwipe is a tool to remove all files and entries for SAV 10 and SEP 11.
Sometime when you deploy sep on a computer that had SAV 10 it fails because it was not able to completely remove the SAV 10.x version.
So this tool helps to remove all entries for SAV and SEP making it a fresh computer for deployment.
TO get this tool you need to call support and ask for Cleanwipe.
