Problems with SEPM and SEP clients not connecting properly
Hello!
Enviroment:
Server:
- Windows 2003 Server
- SEPM 11.0.5
Client:
- Windows XP and 7
- SEP 11.0.5002
Problem:
When the server was running 11.0.4 things where fine. I had a green "dot" on the SEP Client shield nad the server reported that everything was fine.
The problem started when i did the superduper upgrade to 11.0.5. Symantec setup provide NO causion or message that i shold stop the Symantec Endpoint Manager Service, so i did'nt. Unfortunly, this crashes my server completly..
I couldt logon to the sepm console or anything.. I fortunly had a backup of the database from before the upgrade, and tried a restore.. Well, after several tries with total reinstall with 11.0.4 and a proper upgrade to 11.0.5 i manage to login to the SEPM console.. But now the computers wont connect properly.. Anyone know a fix for this?
I have tried to reinstall a new server, with windows server 2008 r2 64bit. With new install of 11.0.5 and imported the backup, but with nothing else happend.. Is the only way i have to reinstall a new server and a build from scratch? Is the SEPM and SEP that idiotic? Setup with no warnings, and system reinstall only option???
This is not locking good when we in a 4-5 months is going to install the full Symantec Network Access Controll software... My boss is probably looking at Cisco's NAC, to replace SNAC if this is true... Backup/restore who wont work is not a good option :-)
