    Hi All I have an issue with an update on symantec endpoint 11 with this error coming up in windows server 2003 event id

    Product: Symantec Endpoint Protection - Update '{CA2D5548-744F-4D89-9134-A036AF71D874}' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Windows Installer can create logs to help troubleshoot issues with installing software packages.     Does anyone have any ideas on this even if I could find out what patch is trying to install, I have googled it and not much luck so any info is most appreciated

    Couple questions.  Does this event ID appear once or recurring?  Also, in the Liveupdate policy do you have content or product updates checked, or is it just definitions?  If you have LiveUpdate downloading product updates, I would turn it off as a test, clear the event log and see if the Event ID error returns.  At least you'll know where it's coming from and at that point you can formulate a game plan

    Please go to run type %temp% and then look for SEP_Inst.log

    In the log file search for RETURN VALUE 3  and paste 5-6 lines before and after that
