Program Slow Down

I would for a company that makes it's own software and Norton 360 has become a problem since our newest release as come up. The program downloads images from an FTP site. Norton, I think is scanner every image as it comes through from the FTP site and is taking a very long time. Our customers are very upset with this, it has sometimes taken a whole day to download the images. I wonder if anyone can help me to find out who I can contact at Symantec to see what we might be doing incorrectly in the programming?
