Project plan to upgrade from CMS 6 to CMS 7
I'm looking for feedback from anyone who may have a project plan to share for a CMS 7 install. I've got a rough version, but looking for feedback from others. We currently only use Helpdesk 6 and DS 6.8 SP1. After every task is done, Software and Inventory solution are installed. We've got the servers built, Altiris Agent installed on every client system, we've got software policies, we've got software installs to go with the policies, systems are remediating, software portal is set up for users, we're doing patch management, we've got the SAN space, we've set up the network properly for software to be distributed, pcAnywhere in use. Assume all endpoints have the AClient already.
So, short version, a spreadsheet with time assigned to each task or each solution, broken down by resource, with a time estimate for each. Does not include Deployment Solution 6.9 SP3 or ServiceDesk 7, I'll post about that in the respective forums.

Bump?
I don't know the etiquette around here for bumping a thread, but any experiences out there that folks can share on? It doesn't need to be a formal project plan; any feedback about the amount of effort required to implement an Altiris 7 solution or solutions is helpful.

I probably scared folks off
Even a post with "It took me two full days for this solution, maybe a week and a half for this one" would be great. I've got a call scheduled with support tomorrow to try to answer the question.

Let us know what you find.
Let us know what you find. I'm in the same boat as you. We have a 30,000 node environment that we need to get upgraded soon and I'm dreading that project! :)

Current plan: 16 weeks
My current plan is 620 hours. Hardware acquired, built, SMP/NS7/CMS7/Software/Inventory/pcAnywhere installed, DS migrated to new hardware, SD7 server built and installed, all solutions fully configured and tested, software library built, network and firewall changes made (all switches will be updated), SQL server built and configured, SD7 site branded, test everything fully before moving to production, get myself trained, get the department trained, communicate to user community, roll out change, support change.
