What is the difference between these products? Information about SBE exists on symantec.com, but no info about ABE 4.0.  Which products included, integration with Microsoft AD, etc? Only ABE or Enterprise Edition available from resellers. Thx.

Are there any features or functions in SEP 11 that are not in SEP 12 SBE?

The following features of SEP 11 are not available in SEP 12 SBE:

  1. Location Awareness.
  2. Replication, Load balancing, and Failover.
  3. Multiple sites
  4. SQL Databases.
  5. Active Directory (AD) integration.
  6. Group Update Provider (GUP) functionality.
  7. Client communication mode (Push/Pull).
  8. Password requirements to stop the Symantec Management Client (SMC) service.
  9. Management Server Lists.
  10. SEPM Domains.
  11. Database configuration.
  12. Internal LiveUpdate server option.
  13. Advanced Firewall Rules/Policies.
  14. Ability to set the client communication port manually. (This will change if port is being utilized; it will search and bind to next open port. This is hard-coded.)
  15. Macintosh client install packages or management.

i am not using Trial version of AdvancedBusinessEdition. I am using Trial version SmallBusinessEdition, but i am interested in AdvancedBusinessEdition (trial version not available at symantec.com). My question about AD integration in Advanced Business Edition. Is this available? Or is available Trial version of AdvancedBusinessEdition?

Hi,

I gone through the link shared by Pete.

It says "Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition is an "all-in-one" suite that protects critical business assets by securing against today's malicious malware and spam threats as well as by rapidly recovering key systems when problems happen. It is the industry’s first business security suite that combines endpoint, email and data protection with server backup and recovery capabilities"

According to me this suite will be having endpoint as one of offered product.

If suite contains endpoint with Enterprise Edition version then AD integration is possible.

If suite contains endpoint with Small Business Edition version then AD integration won't be possible.

I came across following thread, please go through it as well.

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/pro...

However, please try to get in touch with reseller or Symantec to know what they can offer.

http://www.symantec.com/partners/support/contact-u...

I hope it helps.
