Symanec Protection Suites

Hi guys

We use since many years just the Antivirus solution from Symantec, actually SEP11. Now we need to implement a new Disk Imaging solution for our servers, workstations and laptops.

Now I saw there is a product called "Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business" with Antivirus (SEP12) and Disk Imaging (Symantec System Recovery) in one tool together.

Has anyone some expiriences with this product? Beacuse I can't find something here in the forum about.

Would be the "Symantec Protection Suite Small Business" the better solution for around 150 Clients and a few servers?

But why is there still the Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 included and not the current 2011 version?

Is this product only a license thing and I can download the current releases of each product?

Is there really only 1 Management Console for each of this products? So I can manage the SEP and the Backup Exec System Recovery in the same interface?

What you need is: Symantec Protection Suite Small Business Edition 4.0

This will come with SEP SBE 12.1, Symantec System Recovery 2011 and Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange.

Each product has it's own management console, at least for the time being.

One thing to keep in mind is that with Symantec Protection Suite Small Business Edition 4.0 that it includes Symantec System Recovery 2011 for desktops only. It will not activate on a server.

If you buy Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition 4.0, you need to purchase a minimum of 50 licenses to get a license for Symantec System Recovery 2011 for Servers.

Take note that SSR bunled in sps is for workstations only not for servers
