For the deployment of SEP we currently have it setup to take an updated copy of the full virus defs and replace the old set in the installation package so that the client automatically gets the most recent set of virus definitions upon install. Where are PTP definitions located in the content directory of the SEP server? I'd like to push the packages with the most recent copies of those definitions as well.

The moment you deploy the client pakage it will get the latest update from the SEPM. So why do u manually want to push the updates.
Anyways the definistions are stored at C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Virus Defs

As with virus definitions the package is deployed with out-of-date definitions, thus making the deployment rather inefficient in terms of network bandwith. You deploy old data only to immediately request the new data? That doesn't seem the slightest bit odd to you? Doesn't seem like a big deal but in larger deployments, this initial deployment can cause issues with bandwidth usage which could be avoided by deploying with latest defs for all components.

I said the above becuase there is no way of updating the PTP at this time.

I already have VD and IPS defs/signatures being updated to the installation directory automatically, I was specifically looking for PTP updates, but as you say, it looks as though that isn't possible right now, which is unfortunate.
Thanks.
