  • 1.  PTP is not getting updated

    Hello,

    We are trying to install Sep 11 and sep 12,AV definition are updated with latest but PTP is not updated.Waited for more than 2 hrs.

    we removed and installed the same (using cleanwipe)still same issue.

    Have you try to remove the definition of that client?

    Clear out definitions for a Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client manually.

    yes..tried above steps still same issue

    go to add/remove programs

    select sep

    select modify

    remove ptp,

    again

    select sep

    install ptp

    update the policy

    if its 11.x , then it will say waiting for updates

    When you have run clean wipe have you remove the folder from program after cleanwipe?

    What is your OS and sep exact version?

    Is it possible to take report from SEPM.

    in SEPM12.1.4, there is way to get a list of all the SEP clients which lack Proactive Threat Protection, or to list all clients that have PTP and what their current PTP definitions ver

    Run the computer status report, export to CSVand drop into excel and filter on the SONAR column. It will show it enabled or not.

    If Sonar enabled and when you go to add or remove program under modify if you still find it installed

    then Try this

    Have you get the report of PTP?

    Most probabily this issue is running because of the defintion problem.

    In SEP 11.x it's only be supported 32 version only for client system. No support for 64 bit clients and server clients.

    You can repiar it with the help of download doc for 11.x client

    SEP 12.x it is properly support and this can be fix with repair the component.
