Purge Maintenance

NS 6.0.6074 (SP 3 + R6)
Our current setting for the NS: Purge managed computers reporting to this NS, which have not reported data for 3 months. Retire the computers. All data will remain in the database. But these computers will no longer be managed by the Notification Server.
My question when reporting on SW inventory installed, etc. will this data still be reported on or not based on the above selection?
The other option (Delete the computers and all associated data from the database) is obvious but not sure we want to delete the data all together.

If you retire
the data is still available via the reports. However, for most Client Management Suite programs, a license is still consumed.

Jim after reviewing my data
Jim after reviewing my data in the reports...I specifically looked for systems that I know I built for testing purposes and I thought I would see them in some of my reports but I don't (which is a good thing).
I guess I don't understand why they wouldn't appear in the reports.
What do you do for your environment? Are you retiring computers and keeping data or are you deleting the system and all it's historical data? Why?
Anyone else have any comments?
I'm trying to find the value in just retiring the systems and holding on to the data but I can't.
Where is this config to retire PCs located at?
I remember seeing it once but now can't locate it....thanks.
Path to Purging Maintenance to Retire PC's...
go here: Configuration tab >Server Settings > Notification Server Settings > Purging Maintenance
