    win2k3 server
    winxp clients
    ghost v8.0

When trying to push an image stored on our server for new pc's I recieve this error: The copy of the Dos Network Driver template stored is corrupted and could not be used to create the virtual partition. Check the machine properties for this client to make sure that that selected template is valid.
Now I am a stranger to ghost and so are my coworkers. What I have done is created a task to clone and configure, the clone image is valid from when a former employee was here than knew more about ghost and I do. I also enabled ghostwalker to perform the SID change. My configuration uses a template for XP with ordinary name and domain settings for our network.
I have well over 60 computers to ghost and if I can do it without running around to each one with discs I will be a happy camper.

    Hi Wally,

Rather than being anything wrong with the network template, maybe the files needed to create the virtual partition are not copied to the client.

To verify this, on your client machine check if there is a folder named 'Template' in \Program Files\Symantec\Ghost\Incoming. If there isn't, the network driver template is not copied to the client, hence the virtual partition cannot be created.
The cause might be a firewall on the client that does not allow the files to be transferred to the client. Ghost 8.0 was released before SP2 for XP and another product (Ghost 8.2) was released to support XP firewall. Could you test this having the firewall turned off on both client and Console? If it's working you can create rules manually to allow the operation.

    Hope this helps,
    Adina
