This issue has been solved. See solution.

Are there best practices for patching Notification and Site Servers using the Software Update Policies in Patch Management 7.1 MP2?  I want to include our NS and SS in our patching but I don't want to interrupt patching of other clients.  How have you done this?

Policy-driven activities happen in a "pull" manner.  So long as your schedules are defined properly most clients will be made aware of pending policy actions ahead of time.  If they've staged the policy and the package is downloaded ahead of time like it should be then the NS or Site Servers can be offline and the clients still act according to policy and schedule.  Even if the computer is off your network.

Thanks so much High Tower, I will give this a try.

Yes the above did work.  We have set our Management Servers to patch at an off hour, but the staging takes place as normal.  Thanks!
