I'm running Altiris 7.1 in an environment with a second PXE server. The second server is dedicated to Linux clients, and will not be transitioned to altiris. The DHCP server is separate from both of the PXE servers, but is configured to point my targeted Windows clients to the Altiris server using options 60/66/67. PXE booting works fine for the windows hosts. My problem is that when a client boots up on the same subnet that will be going to my second PXE servers, it seems that altiris answers the initial broadcast (since the client IS trying to PXE) and offers itself as the next-server. This causes an issue since the DHCP server needs to be the one to provide that info.
In this setup, all clients will have received the altiris server info from DHCP, so I just need Altiris to handle those clients. How can 7.1 be configured to not offer itself as the next-server in response to broadcast messages, but still work when a client is directed to it from my DHCP server?
